16. All my Peeps π₯
Share
Originally, from Pond Inlet, my fam was among the original relocatees to Dundas Harbour β a moment in history that changed everything for generations. Itβs part of why I value connection so fiercely: to land, language, people, and to the small moments that hold us together.
When I think of βall my peeps,β Iβm thinking of everyone whose footsteps I follow, and everyone whose lives affects my work across Inuit Nunangat, youth, community, partners, and all the people who root for me quietly from the side.
Nunabox wasnβt built out of nowhere. βΎοΈ
It grew out of the care we give each other as Inuit, the way we show up, listen, create space, build paths, and keep going even when resources are thin, and the stakes are high.
Itβs the projects we support, the ideas we nurture, the opportunities we share, and the belief that Inuit-led work is powerful, smart, creative, necessary, and long overdue.
And now, for the first time in my life, I actually have the space to tell that story.
Not the filtered version. π
Not the shortened βfor workβ version. βοΈ
Not the version where I make myself smaller so other people are comfortable. π€
Just the truth. π
The one shaped by intergenerational memory and modern Inuit life.
The one built from starting over, again and again.
The one that refuses to disappear no matter how many doors were closed.
Standing in my truth is about presence. π
Itβs about finally taking up the space my family never had the chance to.
Itβs about saying: Iβm here. I exist. I create. I contribute. I matter.
And when I speak, I donβt speak alone.
All my peeps are with me β every step, every story, every project, every win.
So how does that translate into micro-businesses, consulting, art, or healing? Well just by existing itβs doing its job π
Follow for the ride, more art, more tea, and more exciting news to come! πΒ
