Wow. December has come and gone, and just like that, I’m standing on the other side of the month, wondering where all the time went.
Fewf.
2025 is almost done, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the impact this year has had. Because let’s face it, this is a blog, and blogs are where we pause long enough to actually notice where we are. So without further ado…
This year wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t flashy.
It didn’t come with fireworks or grand announcements.
Instead, it came with quiet consistency.
It came with showing up when no one was watching.
With making art when it would’ve been easier to hustle.
With choosing softness in a world that rewards hardness.
And somewhere along the way, I realized something simple but grounding:
Not everything needs to be optimized, scaled, or justified.
Not every effort needs to turn into a master plan.
Some things are valuable simply because they exist.
The Qujanaq Project has been that for me this year.
A place to slow down.
A place to make things out of love and simple acts of kindness.
A place where language, colour, humour, and honesty get to live without a pitch deck attached.
I didn’t set out to “build” something here.
I set out to hold something.
Moments.
Thoughts.
Little pieces of joy that don’t need to explain themselves.
And in doing so, this space quietly became a counterweight to everything else in my life; the deadlines, the expectations, the constant push to perform. It became a reminder that not everything has to be productive to be meaningful.
Some things just need to be real.
So as this year winds down, I’m not measuring success by numbers or outcomes. I’m measuring it by presence.
Did I work on things that made me happy?
Did I make room for myself?
Did I show up as my authentic self?
For the first time in a long time, the answer feels like yes.
And that’s enough.
Here’s to the quiet wins.
Here’s to making things because they feel good.
Here’s to continuing to act with integrity, honesty, transparency, collaboration, courage, passion, advocacy, and respect 💃
Making the world a little brighter since 1989 🌎 🙌
