21. 21 🎁

Okay, so let's talk about the number 21, cause that's how many brands made the inaugural cut for TQP.

Here's the thing nobody sees when they land on the shop for the first time: this store has been sitting quietly for way longer than 21 anything. The legacy Shopify store this runs on? Opened over 10 years ago. I've owned the Qujanaq name and domain for over 5 years. So yeah, you'd think I'd have launched a while ago.

Nope. Took a 7-year innovation detour instead, lol. Consulting, kits for the Canadian Space Agency, a housing model, a whole other career's worth of "other priorities." The idea just... stayed on the shelf. Waiting for me to be ready for it, not the other way around.

That's actually how I chose the 21. I didn't set out to hit a round number or fill a catalogue. I went looking for brands the same way I let this whole project wait, on my own timeline, for the ones that actually fit. Independent, small, made by someone with a name and a story. If a brand didn't clear that bar, it didn't make the shelf, round number or not.

So 21 isn't a launch quota. It's what "ready" looked like once I finally got there. More are coming, obviously; this is just the start. But I wanted the first drop to be exactly right, not just fast.
