35. Inuktut Please đź’…

So the other day, a close friend of mine called me and was like, " Hey, I saw the resources you posted btw," and I was like, " Yeah, it's my way of staying connected to my language," and then I realized that not everyone may have the same opportunity to ask me what's up lol

Basically, my entire life, I didn't see anything that looked like me. I spent a lot of time in the library; it was the one place I could go solo. As a kid, I'd get dropped off there, and it was the one place I could be alone; I knew how to navigate it, and it was my own little world where I could explore whatever I wanted that day.

This was an incredible escape for me, but everything was in English and French.

EVERYTHING, I mean everything.

There was never any Inuktitut around me at all for the 8 years I lived south: no Inuktitut cards, no Inuktitut radio, no Inuktitut anywhere within earshot. But then again, I guess that is by design.

The isolation from my first language was challenging at times, but if you know even a tiny fragment about me, you'd know that I'm always up for a challenge :)

All that aside, fast forward to 2026, where I have a pretty sweet workstation setup, internet, a legacy Shopify store, and some disposable time; and just like that, Inuktitut Manifestation digital downloads were born.

So here it is. Syllabics, Roman orthography, English, and French all stacked together, because I built the thing that wasn’t there when I was that kid in the library.

If you’ve got a close friend who texts you when something you made lands, that’s a real gift. Not everyone does. So if you stumbled onto this page without knowing me at all, without a friend calling to say “hey, I saw this,” consider this me calling you instead.
